I am the founder and Chief Psychology Specialist of TreeholeHK. My work in Hong Kong is about advancing psychology in everyday life. That spans teaching psychology, counselling, building psychological technology (chiefly the MindForest App), and creating accessible educational content (chiefly the "Five-Minute Psychology" YouTube/Podcast channel). All of it serves TreeholeHK's vision of Building Resilience for the Times: the hope that, through the science of the mind, we can kindle the courage to live genuinely and grow beyond oneself, then pass that on to others and become a spark of light within civil society. Academically, the schools of thought that resonate most with me are psychoanalysis and Yalom's existentialism. I admire Yalom's honesty, and his capacity to use one life as a vessel to hold another; I also value the depth of psychoanalysis and its appreciation of life's contradictions. I hold a BSocSc (Psychology) from The University of Hong Kong and spent time on exchange at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. All of this shapes both TreeholeHK and my own way of practising: I believe a psychologist should be sincere with people, deeply knowledgeable, and willing to act with conviction. That is what I strive toward. Since founding the company, I have been fortunate to receive the support of many friends. To this day I accept that trust with care and humility, because your trust carries the weight of a life — you are trusting TreeholeHK to take part in the questions that matter most to you. And I, like you, have qualities I am proud of as well as worries that are hard to put into words. Through your trust, I have the privilege of walking alongside you through this one and only life. In the years ahead, I will keep doing this work. Thank you again for taking the time to understand what I believe.
