Mindfulness meditation has become a worldwide trend in recent years, and a number of studies have found it can help regulate emotions and ease stress. To introduce his pupils to mindfulness meditation from an early age, primary-school principal Fong Tsz-hei brought in a designer to transform the school into a "School of the Heart". A cluttered storeroom on campus was reborn as a place to cleanse the spirit — the "Heart Room" — fostering an environment of mindfulness across the school. The wide-ranging activities held in the "Heart Room" bring a sense of place onto the campus, giving pupils more chances to take part and to understand their own inner world a little better.
Peter, a psychology graduate, wanted to help more people live with greater happiness, so he set up a page on social media to share knowledge about mindfulness meditation, the science of psychology and more. He also runs all sorts of workshops to help participants see that whether it is cooking, hiking, or even riding the MTR, each can be a good chance to converse with one's own inner self. Peter believes that simply placing your full attention on the present moment is enough to uncover the treasures hidden within everyday life.
And how long has it been since you last listened to your own heart? How is the quality of your inner world? Come, join us on a journey of conversation with the heart!
