What is tactical empathy? Simply put, tactical empathy is empathy with a purpose - using empathy to achieve goals such as understanding your colleagues' hidden needs and emotions, to build trust, and to create meaningful dialogue.
You may think tactical empathy is manipulative, but it is not. Empathy is natural and truly a gift as a human endowment. Learning how to use it properly will help you build better relationships and better teams - simply because your colleagues feel being understood.
Workplace Mental Health Awareness
Mental health issues is common in the workplace, due to its stigmisating nature, we understand people do not want to talk about it. However, when team members mental health needs are being ignored, poor work performance, bad team vibe and even turnovers follow.
With tactical empathy, you will learn to start personal dialogue with your colleagues, to better understand and address their mental health needs - and subsequently - lead a team with greater wellbeing and performance.

Start supportive conversations with team members
Learn to support your peers. You will be equipped with practical know-hows, basic do and don'ts when you want to support others emotionally.
Identify challenges and opportunities in workplace mental health
Understand how mental health issues affect the workplace. You will know the psychology of mental disorders, stress sources and stress management skills.
Communicate better with tactical empathy
Empathy is the foundation of communication. Through mastering to show empathic responses through listening and asking questions, you can communicate better in any situations.
What will you learn?
Workplaces that actively promote mental health culture have lower turnover, absenteeism and ultimately higher productivity according to WHO. With that said, these initiatives are often stigmatised due to the depleting nature of mental health issues.
This session will cover facts and misconnects surronding mental health, so as practical measure one can take to foster a healthier workplace. With understanding and awareness, workplace will become more welcoming, supportive, and productive.
When we spot a peer we care going through a difficult time, it is almost an instict to offer advices. Yet, we often overlook the importance of understanding the situation thoroughly before giving advices.
Active listening is a skillset frequently used by psychologists. Through active listening, we will be able to uncover hidden emotions and needs. Not only that you will be more able to start quality conversations will colleagues, but to better understand and support the challenges they face, both personally and professionally.
Empathy is putting ourselves into someone’s shoes; we could understand others situation and concerns by observation of their feelings, thoughts and motivation. Having an empathetic attitude would encourage others to share more about their in-depth thoughts and emotions. This would allow better emotional support within the team.
