What is tactical empathy? Simply put, tactical empathy is empathy with a purpose - using empathy to achieve goals such as understanding your colleagues' hidden needs and emotions, to build trust, and to create meaningful dialogue.

You may think tactical empathy is manipulative, but it is not. Empathy is natural and truly a gift as a human endowment. Learning how to use it properly will help you build better relationships and better teams - simply because your colleagues feel being understood.

Mental health issues is common in the workplace, due to its stigmisating nature, we understand people do not want to talk about it. However, when team members mental health needs are being ignored, poor work performance, bad team vibe and even turnovers follow.

With tactical empathy, you will learn to start personal dialogue with your colleagues, to better understand and address their mental health needs - and subsequently -  lead a team with greater wellbeing and performance.

When we spot a peer we care going through a difficult time, it is almost an instict to offer advices. Yet, we often overlook the importance of understanding the situation thoroughly before giving advices.

Active listening is a skillset frequently used by psychologists. Through active listening, we will be able to uncover hidden emotions and needs. Not only that you will be more able to start quality conversations will colleagues, but to better understand and support the challenges they face, both personally and professionally.
